The model
A new kind of music deal. Fans fund the project. The artist keeps the masters. Returns flow back as royalties.
An emerging artist brings a project to Artist Exchange: an EP, an album, a tour, a music video campaign. They set a funding goal and define the royalty share available to investors. They keep 100% of their masters, publishing, sync, and live income.
Anyone can back the project with as little as $25. Each investment buys fractional shares of the defined royalty stream. Investors see: their share count, their percentage of the project royalties, and projected payout ranges based on streaming models.
Funding unlocks when the raise closes. The artist uses the capital to record, produce, and release. Investors become the artist's most motivated audience: they stream the music, share it, and advocate for it because their return depends on it.
Streaming income, sync license fees, and other project revenue are distributed to investors quarterly, proportional to their share count. You track earnings in real time on the platform's leaderboard view. Share price reflects the market's view of the artist's trajectory.
After a standard 12-month holding period (required under Reg CF), shares can trade on the secondary market. If the artist has grown, early investors can sell their position at a premium. This is how 'got in at $0.40, now $3.20' becomes possible.
